Donation for Flood Disaster Relief in Nepal and Promotion of Resource Recycling Initiatives
—Waste Recycling Project in Nepal Selected for Japan’s FY2026 “Subsidy for Projects to Suppress Carbon Dioxide Emissions: Decarbonization Promotion Project in the Resource Circulation Sector”—
We extend our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the devastating floods and landslides that recently struck Nepal, and our heartfelt sympathies to all those affected.
Drawing on the relationships we have built through our work in Nepal, Ishizaka Inc. has donated JPY 1 million to the Government of Nepal Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support the early recovery and reconstruction of the affected communities. We sincerely hope for the safety and well-being of all those affected, and for the earliest possible recovery and reconstruction of the impacted communities.
Ishizaka Inc. has been working to establish a sustainable resource circulation model in Nepal through collaboration with local municipalities, universities, and businesses, including Idea Studio Nepal, Kirtipur Municipality, and Tribhuvan University.
As part of these efforts, our project, “Zero Waste Design Waste Recycling Project for the Realization of a ‘Green & Clean City Kirtipur’ in Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley,” has been selected for the Japan’s FY2026 “Subsidy for Projects to Suppress Carbon Dioxide Emissions: Decarbonization Promotion Project in the Resource Circulation Sector.” The subsidy program is overseen by Japan’s Ministry of the Environment and administered by the Japan Waste Research Foundation (JWRF).
Through this project, we will apply the waste recycling technologies and environmental education expertise we have developed in Japan. Our activities will include promoting waste separation at source; producing and utilizing high-quality Refuse Paper & Plastic Fuel (RPF); implementing the Experts Exchange Program (EEP) for environmental education; and conducting demonstration activities toward the development of a recycling plant. Based on the results of the feasibility study conducted in the previous fiscal year, the project has now been selected to advance to the commercialization and implementation phase. We will accelerate preparations for the establishment of a joint venture and the launch of the business.
Through our core business, Ishizaka Inc. will continue working to address medium- and long-term regional challenges. We remain committed to working alongside the people of Nepal to support recovery and reconstruction and to help build sustainable, thriving communities, while protecting the rich natural environment and water resources of the Himalayas.
