Report on the “Global Special Seminar” by the Finnish Delegation
On Thursday, November 24, 2016, a “Global Special Seminar” was held by a Finnish delegation.
The theme was “Learning the key to industry-government-academia collaboration in cutting-edge areas of the recycling business.”
Lahti County in Finland has achieved a 95% recycling rate for municipal waste. We spoke to the people behind this success story to learn about Lahti County’s success model, where recycling is the driving force behind the region’s growth.
In his lecture, he spoke about “hints for successful development of recycling businesses in the future,” including the background to the success of Lahti County, known as a “Cleantech City,” new businesses born out of collaboration with universities, and the potential of recycling businesses that investors are excited about.
