Launching the “CY” Series of Recycled Products Made with Rematerials
With the aim of realizing a society in which all waste is converted into valuable resources, Ishizaka Inc. is advancing the recycling of industrial waste through high‑precision sorting and grading enabled by its proprietary technologies and equipment. In collaboration with IS Engineering Co., Ltd., it has been developing products made from these recycled materials (“rematerials”) and reintroducing them to the market as circular‑economy products.
Ishizaka announced the launch of the “CY” series (pronounced “sai”), a new line of products manufactured from its recycled materials. The company recycles mixed waste containing soil and sand, as well as discarded roof tiles and concrete, and transforms them into interior materials, planters, and blocks used for seaweed bed restoration. With a diverse and growing product lineup, the company plans to further expand its offerings in the future.
Among these products, the interior tiles are particularly noteworthy. They are produced using “NS‑10,” a recycled fill material created by removing foreign matter from soil‑containing mixed waste—which is typically difficult to recycle when received as construction waste—and then sorting and grading the refined soil. These tiles embody the company’s commitment to “regenerate construction waste into building materials once again to support a continuously circulating society.”
The company will launch the “CY” series as a line of products that embody resource circulation and will further advance its initiatives to ensure that rematerials are brought back into use within society.
■Series Name: “CY” (pronounced “sai”)
Inspired by the Japanese word for “again,” the series is rooted in the concept of “returning once more,” expressing a worldview in which the Earth’s resources continue to circulate. The name incorporates the ideas of “Recycle” (reusing resources), “Reunion” (encountering new possibilities as resources), and “Festival,” which echoes the Japanese reading sai—as in matsuri—and conveys gratitude for the cyclical nature of the environment and fertile soil.
