Ishizaka Sangyo’s Energy Management ① Solar power generation generates approximately 200,000 kWh per year
Ishizaka Sangyo has adopted ISO50001: Energy Management and is implementing and continuously improving energy-saving environmental measures.
In particular, we are actively working on the creation and utilization of energy using natural energy.
Solar power generation facilities
Ishizaka Sangyo has installed 211kW solar panels, large and small, in three locations on its site, which is approximately the size of four Tokyo Domes, generating approximately 200,000kWh of solar power annually. This supplies
the annual electricity consumption of approximately 60 households*1 and is used for the parking lot of Kunugi no Mori Communication Plaza, emergency lighting, and as a power source for the Yamayuri Railway (mini steam locomotive and mini Shinkansen).
In addition, the remaining electricity, excluding the electricity used by the company itself, is sold to Tokyo Electric Power Company, thereby contributing to improving the region’s energy self-sufficiency rate.
Since 2015, we have also been building a system to provide emergency power sources so that local residents can charge their mobile phones and other devices at Kunugi Forest Communication Plaza in the event of a disaster.
*1…Calculated based on approximately 300kW/month per household (according to the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan)

Integrated power generation using wind and solar power
An integrated power generation system (30W/h) has been installed that combines wind power generation, which uses wind speed to turn windmills, with solar power generation.
When it rains or is cloudy, electricity is generated by wind power, and when there is no wind, electricity is generated by solar panels, which are then stored and used as night lights within the facility.
In addition to reducing the environmental impact by promoting the use of natural energy, we will continue to focus on building an independent energy supply system so that we can serve as a regional base in the event of a disaster.
