The “Dementia Supporter Training Course” is a course designed to train “dementia supporters” who have acquired correct knowledge and understanding of dementia.
“Dementia Supporters” are trained in each region as part of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s “Dementia Awareness and Community Building Campaign,” with the aim of creating towns where people can live safely even if they develop dementia.
There is no need to do anything special, but by responding appropriately when you encounter someone with dementia in your daily life, you are expected to watch over and support the person and their family without compromising their dignity.
