Ambassadors and diplomatic corps from 10 Latin American and Caribbean countries toured our facilities.

A 21-person diplomatic delegation consisting of ambassadors from 10 Latin American and Caribbean countries visited our company on Thursday, November 14th.

During this visit, they were given a tour of the inside of an all-weather recycling facility that is unaffected by the weather. The purpose of the tour was to observe the recycling process, including the separation, classification, and reduction of waste materials such as chips, waste concrete, and mixed soil and sand waste. They were also very interested in the business model of industrial waste treatment, which led to the tour of our company.

These countries are experiencing remarkable economic growth, and are actively developing social infrastructure, but industrial waste disposal technology is still in its infancy, so they want to learn about Japan’s recycling and environmental measures.

On behalf of the delegation, Ambassador Cosmas Sifaki of Panama

“Along with economic growth, much of Latin America is in the process of demolishing old infrastructure and replacing it with new. The amount of industrial waste generated is on the rise, but recycling technology is still in its infancy. This time, I learned about the mechanisms and technology used by Ishizaka Sangyo Co., Ltd., which has a waste recycling rate of nearly 100%. I would like to share this knowledge with my home country.”

■Noriko Ishizaka, President and CEO of our company

At a time when tours of industrial waste treatment plants are not yet commonplace, we feel extremely honored that ambassadors from 10 Latin American countries have visited our company. We have also heard that it is unprecedented, even in Saitama Prefecture, for a single company to be visited by diplomatic corps from 10 countries.

“Our company recycles and recycles approximately 95% of the mixed construction waste generated at building demolition sites, and I feel that it was very meaningful to be able to demonstrate Japanese technology in this way, as we believe it has created a synergistic effect for the entire industry. I have heard that there is currently a construction boom in Latin American countries to improve urban environmental infrastructure, and at the same time, attention is being paid to the treatment of construction-related industrial waste.”

In the future, we will continue to work hard to make our industrial waste treatment plant known as the “standard place for factory tours,” with an eye toward opening our technology to the public not only in Japan but also around the world.
