[Circulation Design Master] Parent-Child Course (1.5 hour)
You can do more than just look around the resource recycling plant operated by Ishizaka Inc., which runs Santome Konjakumura—you can have fun learning through hands-on experiences.
Let’s go on a field trip as a family
“Where does waste go?”
This tour is a fun way for parents and children to discover the answer to that simple question together.
Come take a tour of a resource recovery plant—a facility you rarely get to see—and experience firsthand how discarded items are transformed into new resources! We hope this will give you an opportunity to reflect on the importance of recycling and consider what each of us can do in our daily lives.

Even young children can participate safely and with confidence.
The viewing routes inside the resource recycling facility are separated by safety glass, ensuring a safe experience even for young children.
This is an opportunity to watch massive, powerful heavy machinery in action up close while learning about the recycling process that transforms the waste generated when homes and buildings are demolished.
You can have fun discovering what happens to “our homes” afterward—something even adults are often unaware of.
Efforts Toward Resource Recycling in Satoyama
After the factory tour, we’ll head out to explore the satoyama.
“Why do we raise chickens at Poultry Garden?”
“Why do we collect fallen leaves from broadleaf trees like Japanese oak and Japanese chestnut?”
Let’s explore the answers to all these “whys” together while experiencing nature firsthand.
