Miyoshi Town Mayor’s Comment – Isao Hayashi
Ishizaka Inc. has long supported our initiatives, including the recognition of our region as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS), the development of Garden Tourism, and efforts toward co-creative town planning. In October 2025, I attended the GIAHS certification ceremony at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). During the event, I was once again reminded of the importance of building strong networks. FAO’s guiding proverb — “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” — perfectly reflects the essence of town development. The value of the partnerships we have built with many stakeholders is something I deeply appreciate.
Under this new comprehensive cooperation agreement, we will strengthen collaboration in regional revitalization, exchange programs, child-friendly community development, and disaster response. I feel reassured knowing that Ishizaka Inc.’s expertise and technologies in industrial waste management can be utilized during emergencies. I am confident that expanding these collaborative networks will contribute significantly to the happiness and well-being of our residents.
President’s Comment – Noriko Ishizaka
Society today faces increasingly complex challenges such as declining birthrates and aging populations, large-scale disaster preparedness, labor shortages, and education disparities. These issues require not only corporate efforts but also collective action across the entire community. With this new agreement, our company will continue to maximize our resources and contribute to the region. In times of disaster, efficient debris removal is essential, regardless of classification, and we hope our capabilities will support the town’s recovery.
Our company’s field, designated as Saitama Prefecture’s only official “Place for Nature-Based Experiences”, is itself a natural asset of the town. We aim to utilize this environment as an educational resource to preserve the satoyama landscape for future generations. Through nature restoration, environmental education, and hands-on learning opportunities, we will also work to nurture “Nature-preneur” — leaders who work in harmony with nature. By offering opportunities for local residents and children to engage directly with the satoyama, we will strive to ensure that this agreement leads to tangible and meaningful outcomes for the community.
