Notice of cancellation of “Living with SATOYAMA EXPO 2020”

The “Living with SATOYAMA EXPO,” originally scheduled to be held on April 26, 2020, has been postponed for one year due to the global spread of COVID-19, with the health and safety of everyone as the top priority. We have been making adjustments with the aim of holding the event in spring 2021.

“Living with SATOYAMA EXPO 2020” is an event held in the naturally rich Satoyama village of Mitomi Konjaku Mura, where participants can experience what they can and must do for the global environment, and how this experience can lead to concrete actions and initiatives. We had been discussing the event, hoping to create a day where visitors could learn about the wisdom and outlook on nature of Satoyama, where limited nature and resources have been incorporated and circulated in daily life, as well as the diverse values and lifestyles required for coexistence with nature, and to move their hearts even a little. However, in light of the resurgence of COVID-19 infections, we have concluded that it would be difficult to ensure the safety of participants, stakeholders, and collaborators, and have therefore decided to cancel this year’s event.

We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the event, and we appreciate your understanding.

We look forward to seeing you all with smiles on our faces in three years’ time, in 2024.
