We are pleased to announce that Ishizaka Sangyo has received the KAIKA Grand Prize at the KAIKA Awards 2019, sponsored by the Japan Management Association.
The Japan Management Association advocates KAIKA – which aims to simultaneously achieve “individual growth, organizational vitality, and organizational sociality” – as a way of thinking about future management and organizational development, and this award is an award system that supports activities that bring various unexplored fields to fruition with the theme of “Development of people and organizations and creation of social value.” Our company’s efforts to promote a circular economy through five-sense management were recognized in receiving this Grand Prize.

Reasons for the award
Ishizaka Sangyo accepts and recycles building material waste. Aiming to be a century-old company beloved by the local community, where nature, people, and technology coexist, the company strives to create new value that fosters a resilient society and a circular economy. Ishizaka Sangyo also practices “visible management,” sharing its business status and daily workplace routines, offering factory tours to local residents, and maintaining the “Kuugi Forest” (wooden oak forest) with the aim of preserving and restoring satoyama (satoyama), as well as providing hands-on environmental education. As a prerequisite for this visibility, the company also implements the 3S (sorting, straightening, and cleaning) and thorough greeting practices. While the company bases its management decisions on the “five senses,” this not only requires attention to and adaptation to various changes in the external and internal environments, but also fosters an organizational culture that proactively and independently changes its thinking and organizational structure. Furthermore, its conscious management of the local community fosters a sense of ownership and mutual prosperity.
Going forward, all employees will continue to work together to promote environmental activities, cherishing our company slogan, “Living beautifully with nature,” in order to realize a sustainable society.
