SDGs x Happiness x Management Symposium Report

On November 15th, our company representative, Noriko Ishizaka, took the stage at the “SDGs x Happiness x Management Symposium” held at the West Building Hall of Keio University’s Mita Campus.

Over 600 people attended the event, which provided an opportunity to think about “a sustainable society where everyone can live happily.”

In the first half of the symposium,
Shinnosuke Kawakami, Representative Director of the SDGs Support Organization, a general incorporated association
; Takashi Maeno, a leading researcher in happiness studies and professor at the Graduate School of System Design and Management, Keio University; and
Tetsuto Nishioka, CEO of Sanjo Kogyo Co., Ltd., recipient of the Special Award at the 2nd Japan SDGs Awards
, took to the stage to speak on the theme of “SDGs” from their respective perspectives.

Ishizaka spoke about how the company is implementing the SDGs, how employees work, and waste issues that we, as a company in the venous industry, can raise awareness about.

In the second half of the talk session, facilitated by Mr. Kawakami, the
participants touched on the history and background of Sanjo Kogyo and Ishizaka Sangyo,
and deepened the discussion with Professor Maeno’s commentary on corporate SDG initiatives and questions about making the SDGs an end in themselves.

This was a time that renewed my resolve to not let the SDGs end as a fad, but to think seriously about the SDGs with many people and share my passion for creating a sustainable society .
