Starting Monday, November 11th, we will be holding “Meat Free Monday” at the Mitomi Konjaku Mura Kunugi no Mori Communication Plaza, which is operated by our company.
“Meat Free Monday” is a campaign started by former Beatle Paul McCartney in 2009. It’s a
very simple action that allows you to contribute to combating global warming by going meatless just once a week.
Meat (especially beef) is said to be a food that places a burden on the environment, as it requires large amounts of water and energy during production and transportation, and emits greenhouse gases that cause global warming.
Therefore, “Meat Free Monday” is an initiative to reduce the burden on the environment by not eating meat on Mondays at least.
Kunugi Forest Communication Plaza also supports this philosophy, and every Monday they will be introducing a meat-free menu centered around vegetables from Ishizaka Farm.
There are many problems in the world, and rather than doing something big,
simply reexamining our daily diet can actually be an action to tackle social issues.
