Our CEO took the stage at the “Symposium on Environmental Considerations”

Our CEO, Noriko Ishizaka, spoke at the 10th Environmental Symposium, hosted by Nomura Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., on Thursday, July 11th .

This symposium has been held since 2008 with the aim of promoting environmental action through business activities from the perspective of “urban development.”

The theme of this event was “SDGs,” and speeches were given by business leaders who are working to realize and promote the SDGs. The symposium began with a keynote speech by Professor Shiro Wakui of the Faculty of Environmental Studies at Tokyo University of Agriculture, who
has appeared on numerous television programs as a landscape architect. He spoke about the need for “Transformative Change” to protect the global environment in the future, and said that achieving the SDGs is one indicator of this.

Professor Wakui told us that Ishizaka Sangyo’s business itself is aligned with the SDGs, and
introduced our company by saying, “In this facility, the factory and the satoyama are integrated.”

During his lecture, Ishizaka conveyed the message, “When making or using something, don’t forget that you will someday “throw away” that item.”

Through lectures and workshops by Soichi Ueda, Director of Think the Earth General Incorporated Association, and Sachiko Uchida, Deputy Representative of Best Amenity Group, the event provided a meaningful opportunity to become more familiar with the SDGs and to consider them as an important perspective for business.
