The “large-scale lead-acid battery equipment” that our company introduced as an energy management system was featured in the November 7th edition of the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun.
The large lead-acid batteries were used to cut peak power demand, and by charging the batteries overnight and using them during peak daytime power usage, a reduction in contracted power consumption was achieved.
At 1,100 kW, it is one of the largest installations in Japan for a private factory, and also serves as a BCP* measure so that it can be used as a power source in the event of a large-scale disaster.
Furthermore, we plan to connect it to the power grid of the Mitomi Konjaku Mura environmental education field, which is operated on the premises, by the end of the year.
In the event of damage such as a major earthquake or fire that makes it impossible to enter the head office building, we will be able to use the Kunugi Forest Communication Plaza on the premises as an alternative base.
We will continue to work on utilizing renewable energy and energy generation.
*BCP: Business Continuity Plan. Measures to minimize damage to business operations and continue business in emergencies such as natural disasters and accidents.
