On Thursday, October 18th, the “ECONOMY Chosun GLOBAL CONFERENCE” was held in Seoul, South Korea, and our CEO, Noriko Ishizaka, took the stage.
The keynote speech in the first half of the conference was titled “The Challenges and Future of Korean Startups,” and was given by Taizo Son, the younger brother of SoftBank Chairman Masayoshi Son and CEO of Mistletoe Inc., which develops and invests in startups.
He touched on the speed at which technology is evolving and the importance of creative education, and offered words of encouragement, saying, “Take on challenges without fear of failure, and what’s important is knowing how to recover after failure.”

In his afternoon lecture, Ishizaka introduced the history of the company’s transformation from a negative perspective, how it has risen from the bottom, and how, as a company engaged in environmental business, it is creating a company that is needed in the local community and its efforts to widely spread environmental education. He conveyed the message that “no matter what the situation, you should always challenge your own way of thinking” and “never be satisfied and continue to challenge yourself.”
Afterwards, a panel discussion was held with Nobuyuki Kondo, Chairman and CEO of Japan Laser Co., Ltd., who also appeared on stage, and the event concluded on a successful note.
