[Held on November 17th] Sponsored by Saitama Prefecture: “Kumamoto Earthquake Reconstruction Seminar: Management Facing the Disaster”

It has been about a year and a half since the Kumamoto earthquake. While various forms of support have been provided, the local recovery in Kumamoto is still only half-way through.
To support the second year of recovery from the earthquake, we will be holding a special seminar at our company next month, “Kumamoto Earthquake Recovery Support Seminar: Management Facing the Disaster.”
The seminar will also be sponsored by Saitama Prefecture.

We will be welcoming members of the Kumamoto Superwoman Project, female entrepreneurs who stepped up to help rebuild their local area amid the turmoil of the disaster, to talk about the situation in Kumamoto at the time of the disaster, and what they thought and did to get to work. In particular, they will talk about the journey they took to get like-minded people together and launch a reconstruction project, even though work had drastically decreased after the disaster. This story of women creating jobs from scratch is full of know-how that can be used as reference even without the disaster.

In preparation for future earthquakes, we will also be inviting disaster prevention specialist Toshiro Sato of the Smart Survival Project, a general incorporated association, to speak about what we must prepare for in an earthquake and what actions we should take in the event of one, under the title “What ifs are always part of the routine – preparing for the unexpected, which is sure to come.” In a panel discussion with our company’s representative, he will also speak from a manager’s perspective on the theme of “How to act when faced with adversity.”
