Our company representative spoke at the “Awakening of Satoyama Orientation Forum”
On Thursday, July 6th, our company representative, Noriko Ishizaka, spoke at the “Awakening of Satoyama Orientation Forum.”
This forum was an event
to commemorate the launch of the Satoyama Living Association, which advocates sustainable thinking using the keyword “satoyama.” Prominent figures from various fields took to the stage to introduce case studies and hold panel discussions on
how to protect satoyama, which has long nurtured Japanese culture and sensibilities,
and how to pass it on to the next generation .
During this meeting, Mr. Motani of the Japan Research Institute praised
the Satoyama in Mitomi Konjaku Village, where our company, Ishizaka Sangyo, is engaged in conservation activities, saying that it
is “a place where you can see scenery that is common in Europe but not often seen in Japan.”
The flatland forest managed by our company belongs to Mitomi Shinden, which has been designated by the Ministry of the Environment as an “important Satoyama area for biodiversity conservation” and
is also registered as a Japanese agricultural heritage site.
The Satoyama Living Association will hold a second forum to continue its activities.
Once the details have been decided, we will announce them here.
