A group from the Latin America and the Caribbean Program for Promoting Japan-China Understanding visited our company
On Wednesday, March 1st, participants of the Latin America and the Caribbean Program for Promoting Japan’s Understanding, an international exchange program promoted by the Japanese government, toured our company.

The Latin America and the Caribbean Program for Promoting Japan-China Understanding is an exchange program targeted at the Latin American region, and this time 34 people, including journalists, young government officials, and students from seven Central American countries (El Salvador, Cuba, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Panama, and Honduras), visited Japan.
The exchange program aims to promote understanding of Japan in terms of politics, economy, society, culture, history, foreign policy, etc., and involves visiting various companies and facilities in four locations across the country with different objectives, such as experiencing Japanese culture and observing cutting-edge technology. The tour of our company was held to learn about Japan’s environmental efforts and the role of a company that is rooted in the local community.

On the day, the children listened intently to the staff’s explanation of the resource recycling system, and were seen enthusiastically taking photos of the factories and facilities they were visiting for the first time.
While walking through the Oak Forest, the visitors were surprised by the size of the guardian deity, but they also seemed to enjoy the field where people and nature coexist. They also rode the Yamayuri Railway’s Kunugi-go (mini steam locomotive) and enjoyed the scenery of the Satoyama countryside.

For lunch, we prepared a bento box made with plenty of local ingredients, allowing the students to experience Japanese culture through food. The seasonal flowers displayed on the tables and the colorful bento boxes also allowed the students to experience the Japanese spirit of “omotenashi” (hospitality).
