A delegation from the Brazilian Federal Congress visited our company

On Monday, March 28, 2016, a delegation of Brazilian federal lawmakers (including Luis Nishimori, Chairman of the Brazil-Japan Parliamentary League) visited our company.

This visit was made possible as part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ “Juntos!! Latin America and the Caribbean Friendship Promotion Program.” This program is expected to foster understanding and interest in Japan, strengthen political and economic ties, and promote exchanges at the parliamentary level.

At our company, they were shown our technologies for separating, classifying, and reducing mixed waste such as concrete, wood, and soil and sand, and they also had the opportunity to walk around Mitomi Past and Present Village, a site for Satoyama conservation activities.

There were also greetings from our Brazilian employees, which made the visitors feel closer to our company.

■Juntos!! Latin America and the Caribbean Exchange Program to Promote Understanding of Japan

The program is aimed at people in Latin American countries who are expected to contribute to strengthening relations with Japan in various fields, and aims to deepen their understanding of Japan by providing them with opportunities to learn about Japan’s foreign policy, traditions, and cutting-edge technology, and ultimately to deepen the ties between Japan and Latin America.

“Juntos” means “together” in Spanish and Portuguese, and was the keyword used in the diplomatic speech that Prime Minister Abe gave in Sao Paulo during his visit to Latin America in 2014.
