Ishizaka Inc. has been entrusted by Saitama Prefecture to serve as the designated manager of the Saitama Midori-no-mori Nature Park.
Ishizaka Inc. has been designated by Saitama Prefecture as the designated manager of the Saitama Midori-no-mori Nature Park. The term of this designation is for five years, from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031.
The Saitama Midori-no-mori Nature Park is a prefectural open-air museum that uses the lush mixed forests and wetlands of the Sayama Hills themselves as outdoor exhibits. Opened in 1995 to preserve the Sayama Hills and pass on opportunities for interaction with nature and wildlife to future generations, the facility celebrated its 30th anniversary last year.
Ishizaka Inc. has been engaged in the management of natural environments and the planning and Implementation of experiential programs, through the restoration and conservation of approximately 8.4 hectares of adjacent satoyama woodlands and the operation of facilities visited by about 65,000 people annually.
Leveraging this experience, as the designated manager, we will ensure the appropriate conservation and management of mixed woodlands and farmland. We will also provide opportunities for visitors to connect with nature through nature observation sessions and experiential programs, allowing them to feel the bond between nature and people and truly appreciate its importance.
In addition to continuing our existing nature observation sessions, we plan to further enhance our initiatives by introducing new programs that provide opportunities for hands-on experiences in nature. Through diverse experiences, we aim to elevate the value of Musashino’s satoyama landscapes, deepen understanding of the local culture of living in harmony with nature, and collaborate with Santome Konjakumura in the field of experiential education. In managing the facility, we will work in cooperation with the local government to ensure safe and secure operations.
Moving forward, we will continue to actively share the natural beauty and cultural charm of the Sayama Hills. Working hand in hand with the local community, we aim to become a museum that serves as a real-world field —accessible and welcoming, where people feel comfortable visiting and returning time and again. We will pursue sustainable operations to achieve this vision.
