: Kazunari Taguchi (CEO, Borderless Japan Co., Ltd.)
Born in 1980 in Fukuoka Prefecture. While attending Waseda University, he studied business at the University of Washington in the United States. After graduating, he worked for Misumi Corporation (now Misumi Group Headquarters) before going independent at the age of 25 and founding Borderless Japan. Currently, the company operates 46 social businesses in 14 countries around the world, with 1,200 employees and annual group sales exceeding 6.5 billion yen (as of March 2022). She was selected as one of Nikkei Business’s “50 Japanese People Who Move the World” and Forbes JAPAN’s “35 Impact Entrepreneurs in Japan.” Her publications include “90% of Social Problems Can Be Solved by Business (PHP Institute).”
Noriko Ishizaka (CEO, Ishizaka Sangyo Co., Ltd.)
After graduating from high school, she studied at a university in the United States with the aim of becoming a designer. In 1992, she joined Ishizaka Sangyo, founded by her father. In 2002, she became president, driven by the founder’s strong desire to “create a zero-waste society” and her desire to protect the company, which was in crisis due to reputational damage caused by false media reports. She has implemented numerous reforms with the aim of becoming a company beloved by the local community. People from over 40 countries around the world visit the factory, and more than 60,000 people visit Mitomi Konjaku Mura every year, a sustainable field created by regenerating the devastated satoyama (rural village) surrounding the headquarters. She received the “2020 Japan Management Quality Award” and the “2021 Corporate Public Relations Manager Award.”
