[Book release information] “Designing Agriculture, Food, and Local Communities: The Voices of Producers Who Are Raising Their Flags”

Junichi Nagaoka and Takeru Abe, CEOs of Farmstead Co., Ltd., who handled the branding of Ishizaka Organic Farm, have published a book entitled “Designing Agriculture, Food, and the Community: The Voices of Producers Who Are Raising the Flag” (Shinsensha).

The book features interviews with 12 producers who have enhanced the value of local brands through collaboration between primary industries and design. It
also includes a special feature: a conversation between Nagaoka and Abe and our company’s representative, Noriko Ishizaka.

In this interview, Ishizaka explains in his own words why our company, whose main business is industrial waste disposal, decided to start an organic farm, and
his thoughts on agriculture, which he rarely talks about at lectures and other events .

The book is also available for purchase at the Kunugi Forest Communication Plaza.
Please take a look at examples from all over Japan of initiatives to change the image of agriculture, primary industries, and rural areas through design.
