The final zero waste campaign of the Heisei era and leaf raking were carried out
On February 24th, the Yamayuri Club held a social gathering called “Zero Waste Campaign” and “Leaf Raking Experience.”
The Zero Waste Campaign is a volunteer activity in which employees clean up the public roads around our company three times a year, with the participation of local residents.
This time, as part of the “Kuugi Forest Regeneration Project,” we also held a “leaf raking experience,” a winter tradition in Mitomi. We raked fallen leaves from the woods, fermented them, and used them as compost for the fields.
At our company’s own farm, Ishizaka Farm, we use this traditional “fallen leaf compost” to improve the soil in our fields.
Using old-fashioned tools such as rakes and winnowing baskets, we have been able to collect over 100 cubic meters of fallen leaves.

The next Zero Waste Campaign will be held in June.
If you are interested in our activities, please come and join us.
