The first zero waste campaign of 2018 was held

On Sunday, February 25th, we held the “Zero Waste Campaign” and “Yamayuri Club Exchange Meeting”!
The Zero Waste Campaign is an activity that takes place three times a year, where we clean up the public roads around our company together with Yamayuri Club members.

After the cleanup, we also raked up fallen leaves, a winter tradition in Mitomi, as part of the “Oak Tree Forest Regeneration Project.” We raked up fallen leaves from the woods and used them as “leaf compost” to grow delicious vegetables at Ishizaka Farm.

We also had the opportunity to plant shiitake mushrooms on oak logs that were cut down to preserve the Kuwagi forest. From next spring onwards, we plan to be able to harvest fragrant shiitake mushrooms grown on the logs.

The next Zero Waste Campaign is scheduled for June.
If you are interested in our activities, please come and join us.

Please note that to participate, you will need to join the local community “Yamayuri Club.”
Members will receive our newsletter “Club Yamayuri,” published twice a year, as well as news about our company’s hot topics. There is no membership fee, so please feel free to join.
