On January 18th, the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun’s 35th Outstanding Manager Awards ceremony was held at the Keidanren Kaikan in Otemachi, Tokyo, and
our CEO, Noriko Ishizaka, received the Outstanding Manager Award and the 35th Commemorative Special Award.
This award is a system that honors managers of medium-sized and small businesses who have made significant contributions to society and the local economy through their outstanding management skills
. The winners are selected by a selection committee (chaired by Masahiro Sakane, Komatsu’s advisor) from candidates recommended by financial institutions and other organizations across the country.
The reason for the award was that the company was highly praised for its efforts to achieve the industry’s highest level of reduction and recycling rate of 98%, as well as for
preserving the satoyama surrounding the company and using it as a place for local interaction and environmental education
.
We will continue to practice our corporate slogan, “Living Beautifully with Nature,” and
aim to be a company that can continue to contribute to society through our business.
