A female captain who travels the world’s oceans by rowboat visited Ishizaka Sangyo

Professional sailor Leah Ditton visited our company

On March 29th, Leah Deighton, a professional sailor active in oceans around the world, visited our company and had a conversation with our CEO, Noriko Ishizaka.

We had the opportunity to hear valuable stories about the environmental changes visible from the world’s oceans and the messages he would like to convey to children.

What was particularly striking was when he said that when he sails alone, he is shocked by the amount of plastic waste on the ocean. He said he wants more people to know that fish eat that plastic waste, and that humans eat those fish.

Leah navigates the boat while reading the waves, wind, and movements of the fish, using all five senses to truly embody the words “living beautifully with nature” through her lifestyle.

We would like to support Leah so that her future voyage will continue safely.
