ゴミにしない技術/石坂産業/Nothing to Waste
Philosophy
We at Ishizaka Sangyo think a lot about how to deal with industrial waste if we are to have a resource-recycling society. And we take action.
In a society that completely recycles resources, the term "waste" would probably disappear from the use. But the other side of the abundant lifestyles we enjoy today is the generation of waste. And someone must inevitably deal with that waste. We see that as our mission, and are learning more every day as we work. We take pride in our business of handling industrial waste, and we conduct research to move ahead. We give our greatest respect to the surrounding natural environment and local community. We strive to be observant, considerate, and careful and have a spirit of service, as we make our utmost effort to create a better world. We constantly incorporate new approaches that have never been tried before. First we change ourselves, and then we work to change the thinking of employees involved in this work, those who use our services, our clients, the local community, and anyone who happens to discover us—in order to transform our world into one that recycles more resources
Since our beginning, a passion to use and recycle everything.
Wood into wood chips. Concrete into gravel.
Then in 2014, Santome Konjaku Mura ("Our Village") was born.
We removed the illegally dumped waste from surrounding forests as part of our "Satochi Satoyama Project" and have started to make this a forest richer in biological diversity. We created a park with an arbor and forest of sawtooth oaks where people of all ages, from near and far, can come and enjoy themselves. Our idea was that Japan and the world would have a brighter future if more children knew about the concept of "Nothing to Waste" and technologies that can be respectful of people and materials.
About 87% of the 172,000 square-meter site are used for a greenery zone and environmental facilities.
Then came 2014. Our more than ten years of efforts came to fruition, and now visitors can tour our factory, which demonstrates the "Nothing to Waste" concept, and enjoy the stunning surroundings of the Santome region, while tasting the delicious products of nature made from locally-produced ingredients. The Satoyama Amusement Theme Park (Santome Konjaku Mura) was created as a place to be enjoyed by people of all ages and even special visitors from overseas. There are plenty of attractions to enjoy. The Plaza built by carpenters highly-skilled in traditional shrine-building techniques in the "sukiya-zukuri" style (traditional architecture based on tea-house aesthetics) using timber from Japanese forests. Delectable honey from Japanese honeybees. Carefully protected and beautifully flowering orchids and lilies. White "mountain asparagus" growing in a field beside a traditional house. A large but surprisingly quiet electric-powered hydraulic excavator. And a theater that we employees are building together, transforming rubble into resources. We invite you to visit our village, Konjaku Mura. It is like a magical time capsule that connects modern technology with centuries-old wisdom from Japan's Edo period.
